In the field of philosophy, affect designates a sensation or a feeling, often provoked by the exterior world, that generates a transformation of an individual’s state of being. This transformation can be notably observed on the level of the individual’s capacity and will to act within the world. If traditional understanding frames affect and intellect as oppositional, this distinction is occasionally called into question in order to encompass any occurrence capable of modifying one’s behavior.
