That which expresses, by comparison with the degrees of a scale, the gradation or the coexistence of several alternative levels of comprehension. The concept of scalarity, as it is taken up in geography, allows us to consider the stacking of different scales as a game of distance and proximity. Scalarity is also an invitation to experience the granularity of the world, to perceive all of the elements, both miniscule and immense, of which it is comprised.
